Where There's a Place for Everyone

Reaching our community for Christ one life at a time.

Bayshore Learning Center

Bayshore Learning Center provides affordable, quality early childhood education and care for children 6 months through Pre-K. We provide opportunities for each child to explore, wonder, question, create and play. For more information, check out the BLC website at

Bayshore Learning Center is a ministry of the church and is located in the Nell Gamble Children's Building in the rear of the church campus.  These facilies are kept clean and maintained to provide the best environment possible for our students.

COLORFULL CLASSROOMS are arranged in learning centers to enhance growth and development in all areas - physical, mental, social, emotional, and spiritual.  Learning Centers may include Science/Discovery, Home/Living, Blocks, Reading, Creative Art, Music, Writing and others.

A spacious fenced-in area allows for several areas of outdoor play in the playground.  A large play structure sits in the middle of the forty-foot play circle, surrounded by a play car, walking pods, and a smaller play structure.  Around the circle is a concrete path that provides endless journeys together with friends.  A favorite with the children is the sandbox, complete with sand toys and lots of fun.  Balls are provided for the basketball goal for even more fun.

Within the playground area we have a fenced off place for our little ones.  The Baby Playground has poured-in ground surface material and shade covering.  The structrued TREE in the middle is the focal point.

Plans to add to and improve our playground areas is ongoing and is funded by fundraisers done throughout the year.

We believe that children learn best through hands-on experiences that promote development of the whole child:  physical, mental, social, emotional, and spiritual.  We encourage the development of a positive self-concept by providing opportunities to make choices and succeed.  We accept and respect each child as an individual creation of God.  We are committed to preparing children for life, not just for the next phase of education.  We also believe that the relationship between staff and parents is paramount in nurturing and protecting the child.

Our staff members are hired for their love of children as well as their experience and training in early childhood education.  All of our staff keeps up to date on current ideas and teaching techniques by completing at least 24 hours of training each year.  Staff members have their criminal background checked every two years, been FBI fingerprinted, and are certified in CPR and First Aid Training.

Our curriculum incorporates appropriate Bible stories and verses throughout the daily activities.  We strive to lay a foundation for the development of a biblical worldview in the mind and heart of each child.  We provide opportunities for your child to explore, wonder, question, create, and play while engaging in age-appropriate learning centers.

Language skills, social skills, and listening skills are worked on daily, along with hands-on learning.  The younger classes use WEE Learn Curriculum, while the 3's and Pre-K use Essentials Preschool Curriculum, supplemented with ABeka Curriculum.

BLC has an open door policy and encourages parents to become actively involved in their child's school.  A parent's attitude and interest in their child's school helps the child adjust and realize that school is a safe, fun place to be.  Our center offers opportunities throughout the year for parents to come together to learn, exchange ideas and give and receive support as parents.
